Development
Alternatives Information Network (DAINET)
was set up to make relevant information available and accessible
for sustainable development efforts, especially by the independent
sector. Since its inception, DAINET has been responsible for
bridging the information gap existing in the voluntary sector in
India.
It aims to make information available and accessible in the
electronic form, at the time required for research and consultancy
by the independent sector organisations via the internet, or
through a dial-up telephone line.
Since inception, the Development Alternatives Information Network
has aimed at providing solutions-oriented coverage of the gap
between those with access to the web tool and cutting edge
technology and those without. It has served as a one-stop resource
for tracking the many practical ways people in the inner cities
and isolated rural areas are acquiring the opportunities to learn
and master these powerful new technologies to better their own
lives and the future of their communities/organisations.
Today, it has graduated into a web solutions provider.
